While in TK Maxx I spotted this Ciaté nail varnish remover pot for £2.99, I needed some nail varnish remover anyway so I figured Ciaté is a brand I trust anyway so it might be good.
Upon further inspection, I noticed it said it was mint chocolate scented, again Ciaté killing it with the scented nail products lately! So I was even more excited about using it, as I hate the smell of normal nail varnish remover or acetone, it’s way too overpowering.
I’m a huge fan of Ciaté, and I’ve also been looking for a new top coat as I’m falling out of love with my Seche Vite, it shrinks my nail varnish back, looking like I’ve not painted the edge of my nail. So when I saw this in TK Maxx for £3.99 rather than the £9 retail price, I just had to give it a try.
At first, I thought it was a regular top coat but after looking it up on the Ciaté website I noticed it claimed to have a ‘seriously summery fragrance’ which made me even more excited! I love the smell of coconut; it reminds me of holidays and summer.
So, I was in Primark the other day and noticed they had brought out some different beauty items (I already own lipsticks, eyeshadows etc) and I figured I’d give some a go. I picked up two top coats, one is a Gel Effect top coat and one is a Matte top coat, I thought I’d share my thoughts on them with you!
At a bargain price of £1 each, you can’t really go wrong as they do work as top coat. As for lasting power, I tend to pick my nail varnish off a lot so I can’t comment on if it’s made it long wearing or anything.
So as Spring has arrived, I felt like I needed to go more pastel, bright or funky with my nails and I decided to revisit some of my favourite nail varnish shades for the Spring and share them with you!
