So, I’ve recently went through the very damaging process of going from red box dye to bleach blonde. The whole process involved two full head bleaches, one toner, putting directions dye on that required a bleach bath to remove (Flamingo Pink) and then another tone.. The whole process damaged my hair and although it isn’t the worst its ever been it’s still pretty damaged and dried out.
I have however found some products that have helped with the condition and made my hair way more manageable and less frizzy.
Urban Antidotes by TIGI Bed Head Duo
I’ve always used any old shampoo and conditioner that was on offer as I didn’t think it would really make much of a difference but this time I figured my hair needs serious rescuing and if that means investing in a more expensive shampoo and conditioner to give it a try then why not!
I’d heard good things about bed head hair products and was happy when I seen them in b&m for £9.99 each (I’ve since found them on Amazon for a similar price!) They had quite a good selection of shampoos and matching conditioners but I decided to try the Resurrection level 3 (for ‘fragile damaged hair that needs an intervention’ and I’m pretty happy with it so far!
The smell is really sweet and its okay at first but it has gotten quite sickly while using it in the shower but once rinsed out it leaves a faint sweet, fruity scent that smells amazing so its not too bad if you can get over it being strong in the shower. (I’ve now realized that the smell reminds me of Hubba Bubba)
The Resurrection Set claims to ‘bring weak and brittle hair back to life’ which I can definitely agree with, I’ve noticed my hair is more manageable, less prone to snapping off while brushing and styling and it isn’t as frizzy.
Also, the stuff that Bed Head put on their packaging is genius! Always makes me giggle.
Bleach London – Split Fix serum
I recently bought this when bleach London products were on 3 for 2 in boots before I bleached my hair as I figured it sounded good and I’d end up with some split ends after bleaching my hair. I apply one pump of this to my freshly washed, damp hair with a pump of the argan oil and it works well alone or with the Argan oil to tame frizz and make my hair more sleek, soft and shiny without weighing it down. It’s definitely a lightweight serum and I will repurchase this once I’ve used it up!
Bleach London – Reincarnation Mask
I first tried this in the bleach London bleach kit and really enjoyed it, at £7 a tube I don’t think you can go wrong. Its a super thick, yummy smelling deep conditioning treatment that you are meant to apply to unwashed, damp hair as a pre-shampooing treatment, leave for 15-20 minutes, then wash and condition as usual.
I use this 1-2 times a week and I’ve also left a thick layer of it on overnight when my hair really needs the moisture d it works so well, my hair feels so soft and looks so shiny after using it. Its an awesome conditioning treatment and feels luxurious!
Matrix Biolage – Hydrathérapie Cera Repair Pro 4
(I think the packaging has changed? Looks like the same product!)
I found these in TJ Hughes for £3.99 a box and figured I’d give them a go. It does say for professional use only but its just a conditioning treatment with keratin so I just read the instructions and used it and for some reason I feel like this hasn’t just strengthened my hair but also helped it grow? I apply it to the roots mainly and the ends, I normally use two glass vials of it once a week and I’m happy with the results so far and I’ll continue to use it!
Got2b Oil-Licious Styling Oil
I used to use the Moroccan oil spray and I loved it, I’ll probably repurchase that one in the future but for now I using the Schwarzkopf got2b oil-licious tame and shine styling oil with Argan oil.
The product claims to help you achieve sleek, glossy hair with better manageability and I can agree. The oil isnt too heavy and doesn’t weigh your hair down at all which is good, I use one whole pump when my hair is wet and then half a pump on my ends whenever it looks frizzy until my next wash and it doesn’t make my hair look greasy.
